Privacy - Final guidelines released

The Privacy Commissioner has released the final version of the Guidelines to the National Privacy Principles (NPPs). These guidelines have been simplified and are a much shorter version than the original draft guidelines released earlier in the year.

The guidelines give organisations a quick guide to helpful information about the NPPs. They deal with an organisation's obligations under the NPPs, key definitions, the NPPs themselves, and guidelines as to how to comply with the NPPs. The Act commences on 21 December 2001.
