General capability and experience
Alison is a partner in the Dispute
Resolution Team. Alison has extensive experience in a wide variety of general
commercial litigation matters with a focus on contractual disputes, actions
under the Trade Practices Act, building and construction law, matters arising
out of the Corporations Act and professional indemnity and directors and officers
liability including acting for insurers.

Relevant Experience
Alison has acted in a range of commercial
matters including:
- Successful appeal by Austereo against trade mark registration by Nova Radio
(DMG)
- Acting for defendants in the complex professional indemnity action brought
by the liquidator of the Emmanuel Group of Companies
- Acting for the ACCC in several prosecutions in the Federal Court brought
for breaches of Part V of the Trade Practices Act
- Acting for the non-executive directors of the State Bank of South Australia
in the Royal Commission and Auditor-General's Inquiry into the State Bank
- The action by preference shareholders against JN Taylor Limited and other
members of the Bond Group of Companies
- Acting for an executive director in an action by Executive Trustee Australia
Ltd and others against Peat Marwick Hungerfords in relation to Excel Finance
Corporation Ltd.
Alison has considerable expertise
in the area of health law and related matters, including advising a number of
private and public hospitals and others in the health industry.
She has advised and acted for insurers
and private clients in the area of professional indemnity, including medical
practitioners, engineers and builders, directors and officers, medical associations
and hospitals.
