Belinda Richards - Associate

General capability and experience
Belinda is an Associate in the firm’s Local Government Group. After completing a Summer Clerkship with the Employment and Industrial Relations Team in December 2005, Belinda joined the firm on a full-time basis in December 2006 following her admission as a solicitor.
Belinda’s experience since joining Norman Waterhouse includes assisting in the handling of the following matters:
- Workers Compensation claims
- Unfair and unlawful dismissal claims
- Underpayment claims
- Equal Opportunity claims
- Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare advice and prosecution
- Assistance with internal discipline/performance counselling
- State and Federal Award Interpretation
- Interpretation of State and Commonwealth legislation
- Drafting common law agreements and Workplace Agreements
- Drafting and auditing workplace policies and procedures
- Lodgement of industrial instruments
Belinda also has experience with the firm’s Local Government Team, including assisting with advice and prosecutions under the following legislation:
- Dog and Cat Management Act 1995
- Local Government Act 1999
- Public and Environmental Health Act 1987
- Road Traffic Act 1961
- Food Act 2001
Education
- Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice – Flinders University in 2006
- Bachelor of International Studies– Flinders University in 2006 (Spanish Major)
Qualified to Practice in the following jurisdictions
- Admitted to Practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2006.
- Admitted to Practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the High Court of Australia in 2007.
