General capability and experience
David joined Norman Waterhouse in
May 2006 having previously been a judicial associate to Justice Debelle in the
Supreme Court of South Australia. Prior to this, David worked at a boutique
commercial firm. At University, David topped his year in Environmental Law.
Areas of Specialty
- Provides advice on matters arising under the Development Act 1993 and related
legislation, including development assessment, the regulation of building
work, land divisions and community title. Drafts statutory instruments under
the Development Act including enforcement notices and Land Management Agreements.
- Provides advice, preparation and representation in appeals and prosecutions
under the Development Act and related legislation (including encroachments
and fencing matters). Provides advice as to Court process and procedure and
assists counsel when counsel are briefed.
- Has broad experience in a variety of areas of law incidental to environment
and planning, including contaminated land, telecommunications, regulatory
and approvals, energy and resources, property and large infrastructure development,
commercial structuring, trade practices and criminal procedure.
- Provides advice and assistance in undertaking legal due diligence for land,
sea and inland waters development projects.
