Mary-Alice is a partner in the Property, Infrastructure and Development Group, who specialises in procurement.
Mary-Alice has extensive experience in all aspects of procurement processes, from developing initial procurement strategy, request formulation, preparation of request documentation, response evaluation, contract preparation, contract negotiation, contract management, shared services arrangements, asset management and probity issues. She regularly provides advice on the legal risks associated with various procurement strategies and the alternatives. She has drafted and negotiated services acquisition contracts, infrastructure agreements (both acquisition and construction), panel and period contracts and support contracts for both simple and complex acquisitions. Mary-Alice has regularly acted as lead negotiator on legal and contract issues for various clients and has coordinated a range of specialist advice as required, working with business and financial advisers and generally as part of a team focussed on complex procurement projects.
In addition to her work on a broad range of general services and procurement contracts, she has experience in procurement arrangements of a non-commercial nature designed to implement policy programs, such as in the telecommunications, information technology, transport, welfare and immigration sectors. Mary-Alice has provided probity and process advice, advice regarding impact and requirements of the regulatory framework and policy environment, complex selection and evaluation criteria, guidelines for evaluation processes and contracts. Mary-Alice has acted for Commonwealth, State and Local government entities, as well as private clients.
In addition to her considerable experience in the procurement area, Mary-Alice has over six years experience at a national commercial law firm. This work was in the construction and major projects area with a particular emphasis on construction, infrastructure, engineering and mining matters, at both a national and international level.
