Sean commenced with Norman Waterhouse in August 1993 working initially in the development of the firm's international client base acting in commercial and property matters for local and foreign clients of the firm.
Sean returned to the firm in 2003 after almost 3 years working as the Senior Foreign Legal Counsel at Makes & Partners Law Firm in Jakarta, Indonesia where he was identified as a leading corporate and commercial practitioner by The Asia-Pacific Legal 500.
In 2002, Sean acted for the Government of Indonesia in the US$634 million privatisation of PT Indosat Tbk, Indonesia's second largest telecommunications carrier and the US$540 million divestment of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk - Indonesia's largest retail bank - the two largest privitisations of Indonesian companies since the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis.
He has also studied and worked in China and acted for both Chinese investors in Australia and Australian investors in China.
Sean's Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia language skills and extensive, in-country international legal and commercial experience see him continue to be involved in international projects.
Since his return to Adelaide, Sean has applied his extensive experience in acting in commercial matters for public authorities by advising local government on a range of strategic commercial and contract management matters.
As a partner in the firm's Property, Infrastructure and Development Unit, Sean also acts for local government authorities in urban development and infrastructure projects including public private partnerships.
