Managing Family and Domestic Violence Leave
Family and domestic violence is a workplace issue. Significant changes have recently been introduced in Federal and State industrial instruments to support employees who are experiencing or escaping family or domestic violence.
As of 1 September 2023, public sector employees in South Australia are entitled to access 15 days of family and domestic violence leave. All other employees under the Federal system, including employees of small business employers, are entitled to 10 days of family and domestic violence leave.
It is imperative that Councils, local government entities, businesses and organisations understand the legislative changes and their obligations in relation to managing family and domestic violence leave in the workplace.
Norman Waterhouse Lawyers are pleased to offer a 1.5 hour training session aimed at informing Managers and HR Officers of these recent changes, and helping them extend support to employees experiencing family and domestic violence, whilst managing legal risk.
