Christopher obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide in 2011, after completing a Bachelor of Journalism with Melbourne’s Monash University in 2009.
He was admitted to practise as a
barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2013 and in
the High Court of Australia in 2015.
He commenced practising criminal
defence law with one of Adelaide's preeminent specialist law firms, where he
undertook regular advocacy work on behalf of clients in the Magistrates Court,
before transitioning to exclusive family law practice in 2015.
Upon commencing with Norman Waterhouse in July 2015, Christopher worked closely with the well-known and highly regarded senior family law practitioners Timothy Adey and Janine Mason until their retirement. Since their retirement, Christopher has been responsible for managing Timothy and Janine’s practices and maintaining the high level of service and expertise their former clients, and his own, are accustomed to.
Christopher offers clients
strategic, pragmatic advice, anchored in the commercial realities of their
matters.
While he has extensive experience litigating family law matters
in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Christopher favours
less adversarial measures where appropriate, and regularly promotes the use of
alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation, with a view to
minimising both costs and conflict.
Christopher is equipped to deal with all varieties of family law disputes, from simple divorce applications to complex property and parenting matters, and guides clients through unabating terrain with sensitivity and discretion.
