An Important Message about COVID-19 from Norman Waterhouse

To our clients and colleagues,

Clearly, we are in uncertain and worrying times.

For all of us, our number one priority must be to do our bit to help slow down the spread of the virus, so as to give our health system the best possible chance to respond.

Unavoidably, however, there is going to be a sustained period of significant personal and business disruption.

The building management of our premises at 431 King William Street have implemented several security measures. All visitors to our office will need to be met in the ground floor lobby and accompanied to our tenancy. If you are visiting the office during this time, please call our reception team on (08) 8210 1200 upon your arrival and they will arrange for the relevant practitioner and/or secretary to greet you on the ground floor and bring you up to the office. Alternatively, if you have the office phone number of the practitioner you are meeting, you can call them directly.

If you do need to attend our office, as a condition of entry during this time, all visitors to Norman Waterhouse will be asked in advance if:

  1. They have travelled to or transited through any international or interstate locations in the last 14 days;
  2. They have any of the COVID-19 virus symptoms;
  3. They have been in close contact with a confirmed case of the COVID-19 virus.

At Normans, we have been assisting our clients with difficult and challenging situations for 100 years. And so we felt it important – at this most challenging of times – to remind you that we stand ready, locked and loaded, to assist wherever we can.

Our Board and executive management team met to refine our business continuity plan, and to ensure that our resources are fully mobilised to assist our clients in all facets of their business – be it with employment and staffing issues, emergency response and management, contract enforceability, dispute management and so on.

While there will be changes to the ways we interact with each other, we have a full suite of technology – including video conferencing, on-line training and document sharing platforms – to ensure we can stay connected, and to make things as seamless as possible for our clients. Our phone, email and document management systems will be uninterrupted, and all calls and messages will be routed to staff wherever they may be working from.

We can expect that things will continue to change and evolve over the coming weeks and months. We are fortunate that within our business we have connections to the best medical and scientific advice as well as government policy makers and business leaders. Everything we do will be informed by the very latest data and insights from these primary sources.

Can we take this opportunity to thank you for the trust you’ve placed in our people for 100 years, and to reinforce that we’re here to help. Please reach out to us if there is anything we can do to support you and your organisation in these challenging times.
