Geeta Sidhu

Geeta joined Norman Waterhouse in 2016 and is a member of the Native Title, Resources & Associated Land Access practice, which has been listed in the Doyle's Guide as a national leader in native title law.

Geeta has experience in all aspects of native title, mining, energy and resources work, which includes advising native title claimant and holder groups, local government and industry proponents, meaning that she has a strong understanding of the priorities and needs of all groups involved in the sector. Geeta has been involved in finalising a number of significant ILUAs and native title agreements for large infrastructure and energy projects. In addition, Geeta has an excellent understanding of Aboriginal heritage matters which regularly arise in the Native Title, Resources & Associated Land Access practice and has been an instructing solicitor on an Administrative Law matter before the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Australia in respect of heritage protection. She has also assisted senior practitioners in mediation and litigation in the Federal Court of Australia and enjoys working on more novel matters including the unprecedented appointment of a statutory authority as the first default prescribed body corporate for native title holders. Geeta was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia in 2017.

Geeta currently assists private and public sector clients with a wide range of services in respect of native title and heritage, commercial agreements, land access and corporate governance.
