Spencer Gulf Authorised Officers Training 2024

The Norman Waterhouse Local Government team is the largest of its kind in the State and is widely recognised as the leader in the provision of advice and representation to the local government sector in South Australia.

Our expert practitioners will provide you with up to date information on the shifting regulatory landscape together with contemporary best-practice sector guidance on regulatory matters, civil enforcement and prosecution proceedings in local government.


This training session will provide an overview of local nuisance and training for authorised officers. The training will summarise the fundamental legal concepts that underpin relevant legislation including the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995, Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 and the Local Government Act 1999.

The course will provide participants with various different statutory interpretations contained within the Acts and an understanding of the subjective nature of nuisance. Our speakers will deliver tips for conducting investigations and discuss evidentiary aids available to authorised officers.
